A public reading room for science.
An open table for science. Free, in person, and open to anyone who wants a chair.
We are a community of curious adults who study what great scientists and thinkers have revealed about the natural world. That means physics and cosmology, biology, ecology, and chemistry.
The shape is simple and it never changes. Curated exposure, then honest reflection, then open discussion. We watch and read at least two contrasting voices on one question, say what struck us in our own words, and only then dig in. A host curates and keeps the room moving, but the meaning-making belongs to everyone in the chairs.
What we believe about learning
Wonder comes first. You don't need a degree to think carefully, and the most interesting conversations happen when smart people disagree in good faith. A small group that keeps coming back is worth more than a big crowd that comes once.
Who's behind this
Science Study Group is hosted by one person who loves this material and wanted a real room to think it through with others. There is no organization to join, no membership, and nothing to buy. The visuals and sources here are gathered and prepared ahead of time. What they mean is worked out in the chairs.
What we are not
We are not a lecture series and not a classroom. Not a debate club, not a credentialing program, and not a religious community. The Ethical Society is our generous host, which means venue and not doctrine. We look together and we reflect. We don't certify anyone, and we don't claim the last word.

First session Sunday, September 13, 12:00 to 1:30 PM. In person, with the real visuals on the projector. Free and open to all.
