Exploring Nature Through Modern Science
Learn the science.
Then sit with it, together.
Bible Study Science Study!
All that can be learned about how the universe exists can't be found in a single ancient book. Let's explore the evidence of modern science through curiosity and collaboration. It's a discussion-based gathering for curious minds, in person.
First session Sunday, September 13 12:00 – 1:30 PM Ethical Society of Mid Rivers 117 Triad Center West, O'Fallon, MO
Our purpose
To foster curiosity, explore big questions, and serve a community of lifelong learners through science.
All are welcome
Whether you're a student, professional, or just curious, you belong here.
No prior reading. No prerequisites. No doctrine, and no requirement to arrive at any particular conclusion.
How it works
Ninety minutes, four moves.
A Science Study Group where we use curiosity and critical thinking to learn about the nature of reality.
- 01
Opening reflection and the story behind the idea of this group.
- 02
The group chooses Physics, Biology, or Ecology.Cosmos & Physics: space, time, matter, energy. Life & Biology: evolution, cells, DNA, consciousness. Earth & Ecology: climate, ecosystems, our place in nature.
- 03
Then we watch a short 10–15 minute science video.
- 04
Group discussion where we share our thoughts and ideas about what we have just watched.
Each topic includes
A brief introduction to a prominent scientist in the field and a short summary of the field and that scientist's research work.
Choose one direction to explore
Where should we start?
The room picks the direction together at the first session. Each one has a short video ready.
Cosmos & Physics
Space, time, matter, energy, and the structure of reality.

Opening reflection and the story behind the group. Then the room picks a direction, watches one short video, and talks it through.
Why join
Science, connected to everyday life.
- Thoughtful discussionDisagreement is welcome. Winning isn't the point.
- Evidence-based explorationWe look at the actual experiment and the actual image, with sources you can check.
- Curiosity welcomedEvery question is a good question. Start anywhere.
- Connected to your lifeIdeas you can carry out of the room and use.
Share your voice
Ask questions, share ideas, and help shape what we learn together. The topics get chosen in the room.
Come sit with us.
A wide, welcoming door into the wonder of the natural world. Learn one idea, then think it through in good company.
